I'm doing good. I've started classes this week and work has been getting in the way. On Tuesday I am begining the BIG project that is about redesigning a street in Orland Park. Remember Penny that I told you about it? I'll keep you up to date on my progress every so often. So that's what happening with me. Not much for now.

I did get your text message Penny! Thanks! But guess what happened... my phone broke down... so I got a new one. I still have the same phone number and everything, it is just a new phone (but it is the same kind as the old one).

I'll send some more text messages at random-- just to keep it surprising. So keep a look out for them. And oh yes! Keep on the look out for a postcard! I sent one and I will send one again on Sunday. But this one should be coming there any day now... so keep a look out for that too!

Anyway, I'll be keeping touch so tha sixathoume oli mazi ksana, just like when you were here!

Things that I Did

I'm sitting at work right now listening to Rallia's tragoudia. Ach Rallia mouuuuuu (lol). But other than listen to beautiful Rallia, there's not much to do here at the moment so I decided to write. Unlike today, yesterday was so very busy. People in the demarch (demarcheo) were asking me to make maps for them. The City Council was having end of summer meetings (right before they go on vacation) and everyone's plans were going to the council (the council is like the 'vouli' for the city). I had people in the Xorotaxeias department asking me for maps every 10 minutes! I went to work at 10:30am and I didn't stop working until 5:30pm. I worked straight without any breaks for all those hours. I made 12 full scale maps of different places in the city. It was insane work. I think it's a record though. I made 12 maps and all 12 went to the Council and I heard that a few of the maps went to the Mayor too. It's not the first time the Mayor has seen my maps, but it is still a compliment.

Throughout the day yesterday, I kept thinking it was never going to end. At one point in time I had four people asking me at the same time if I could print this map and that map and make this map for that project. Blah blah blah. It was so confusing. My boss even panicked and thought I was not going to make it. But I never panicked. I made it. I made all 12 maps nice and smooth and easy (even though it was hard). I didn't lose my cool. Why?

Because, all day yesterday I kept saying to myself, "I can't wait until I leave, I can't wait to go to the store"... because I kept thinking about my promise to Vasia. Remember, Vasia, what we said at the rooftop dinner? So yes. As soon as I finished all my work, I went straight to the store and I found all my postcards for you!! I couldn't wait to buy them. So this Sunday I am sending the first one to you... so keep a look out for them in the mail Vaa!

Here we go... 108 days to go!!!!

hey everyone,
this is maria at your service! wow.. next week i start school, boohoo!! summer '05 was really fun. It started off with nick and helens wedding when the pittos cuzins from Greece came! Then we went to Florida for 2 weeks! In Florida we went to Deniden and the Ft. Lauderdale then back to Deniden. we swam alot in the pools and beach! tan? hmm id say yea we got alittle.. but me i say that its not ok because i didnt get much, BUT the vication was FUN! a week went by since we came home! today the 13th of Aug. vicki and eliana came home (a wk after us.) Well its 12:47am and im tired! SoO0 goodnight.. and talk to ya'll soon again!

Week 1

The countdown has begun. I am sitting here in Chicago with Penny and it is Week 1 of 16! Today, we have started this countdown together. 16 weeks from now, we will end this countdown together again... but in Greece! And Penny says, "Yes!"

But Vasia says, "Σιχαθηκα!" (but that is Penny's spelling) LOL
